Seattle Workshops – Jan 14, 16 and 17, 2016

In Celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Chinese Wushu & Taichi Academy in Seattle, we are inviting the world renowned Chen’s Taichi 11th Generation Grand Master Chen Zhenglei to host a series of workshops in Seattle. Grand Master Chen Zhenglei is a 19th Generation Chen Family descendant. He is officially accredited as one of the Top Ten Contemporary Chinese Wushu Masters, Chinese Wushu 9th Duan, a board member of Chinese Wushu Association and a member of the expert panel of Chinese Wushu Research Institute. He has published dozens of books and videos which are translated into many languages. His books and videos have benefited millions of Taichi enthusiast all over the world. He takes the task of promoting Taichi culture as his inherited obligation and has traveled all over the world in the last few decades.

Hong Yijiao, president of Chinese Wushu & Taichi Academy, became Grand Master’s disciple in 2007 and was given the Taichi name Chen Dejiao. She began wushu training at eight. She graduated from Zhenjiang Normal University majored in Chinese Wushu in 1988. She taught in Zhejiang Chinese Medical University from 1992 and also studied Chinese medicine while teaching at the university. She also competed in wushu tournaments and had won championship titles in both in Wu’s Taichi and Chen’s Taichi in Zhenjiang provincial wushu tournaments. She moved to the United States in 1994 and founded Chinese Wushu & Taichi Academy in Seattle in 1996. As an active wushu figure in US, she won a Taichi Grand Championship title in 1998. Her students also compete in various tournaments. Her students won first and second places for Chen’s Taichi in the overseas group at the First International Taichi for Health Conference in Sanya City in China. Hong Yijiao is certified as a Class A International Wushu Judge in 2004. She first met Grand Master Chen Zhenglei in 1997 at an international wushu tournament and has been working with him ever since. From 1998, she has invited Grand Master Chen Zhenglei to Seattle dozens of times to host workshops for Taichi enthusiasts in Seattle.

This seminar is for all Chen Taichi practitioners who are learning, or have already learned Old Frame One. Old Frame One is the foundation of all Chen Taichi forms. Reviewing the form with Grandmaster Chen is a deeply rewarding experience, even for those who are already adept at the form.

This seminar is a must for anyone who has no taichi experience, or is at beginner or intermediate level. An advanced practitioner will also be able to deepen his or her taichi foundation.
